Following consultation with partners, customers, volunteers and staff in recent months the Board of Wolverhampton Voluntary Sector Council is pleased to announce our new name and new look.
Now known as Wolverhampton Voluntary and Community Action (WVCA) our mission is to make a positive difference for people in Wolverhampton by working side-by-side with voluntary organisations and communities across the City.
In outlining the organisation’s vision, Steve Clay the Chair of WVCA said: “we will continue to strive for a City where everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their potential, the root causes of inequality are eradicated for good and for a city where we have a well-resourced and thriving voluntary, community and social enterprise sector that supports strong and diverse communities”.
To find more about our work please do visit our brand new website at www.wvca.org.uk. Here you will see how we:
- Support Voluntary and Community Organisations with setting up, maintaining an effective organisation, finding and applying for funding and highlighting the great work that they do.
- Provide £20 to groups and organisations for every £1 invested in us.
- Lead collaborations and bring people together.
- Help people to find volunteering opportunities and support organisations to work with volunteers.
- Champion our brilliant sector locally and regionally.
- Deliver projects and programmes working side-by-side with our sector and with communities across the city.
Whether you are a group or organisation from our sector, a resident of Wolverhampton, or an organisation that aligns with our aim to enhance people’s quality of life within our city, we would love to hear from you.
