This winter is set to be one of the toughest on record for many people and the voluntary sector will be at the forefront of supporting communities as we often are.
WVCA is hosting an online session (on Zoom) on Thurs 13th Oct from 10am – 11:30am where we will hold the space for organisations to come together and share ideas and challenges and discuss how we might overcome issues together.
There will be a particular focus on the ‘warm spaces’ concept that is emerging across the city, which will see community venues open their doors / services to those who may be unable to heat their homes.
Who should attend this session?
- Those who already have plans to offer support and want to share / learn from each other
- Those aspiring to offer support who might like to know more about the tools available & ways of doing this
- Anyone from a VCSE organisation who has an interest in how we can support communities this winter
Who will be there?
WVCA will host and we are asking people who already have plans in place to speak briefly about these, but we want to hear from you! So if you would like to speak about anything specific please email us at commshub@wvca.org.uk.
We will also be hearing from Kate Lees who is coordinating the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Warm Spaces working group which is now open up to partner agencies too.
So if this session interests you, please sign up, grab a cuppa (don’t boil more water than you need to!) and join us on Thurs 13th Oct at 10am.
