The City of Wolverhampton Council has launched the first round of Community Grants funded by Wolverhampton’s local allocation of UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UK SPF).

Wolverhampton-based voluntary community sector organisations can apply for grants between £20,000 and £60,000 for individual organisations or more if part of a partnership/consortium to support local residents around local place-based priorities including:

  • Financial wellbeing
  • Digital inclusion
  • Employment and skills

Interventions that cut across these priorities are welcome.

Funding is limited and must be spent in the 2023/24 financial year.  We anticipate a further round during 2023/24 subject to funding being available and 2024/25 subject to approval of year 3 grant.

The deadline for applications for Round 1 is 28 March 2023.

Applications should be e-mailed to Heather.Clark2@wolverhampton.gov.uk.

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.

The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
