Dear Colleagues,

I’ve been in post eight weeks and what an eight weeks it has been!

After 20 years of being at the Temple St office, we have moved into our new offices at Paycare House in George St and have been fully operational since Monday, 6th November. This includes our Social Prescribing, SUIT, Volunteer Centre and Infrastructure Support Services.

This was a major operation and as part of the move, we were happy to donate a good deal of furniture and resources to the VCSE sector. Thank you to all of our WVCA staff who rolled up their sleeves and helped.

Please drop in and pay us a visit – we will be happy to see you.

Another piece of great news is that we have had a successful financial audit. Our auditors have been reviewing our accounts over the last three weeks and are happy with our Statement of Financial Activities and overall financial position. This is fantastic news as we go into the new year. Thank you to our Finance staff who worked so hard on this.

It has been hectic but I’m looking forward to working with VCSE partners going forward. We have a huge agenda to tackle and I know so many of you are working at the frontline to support all of our communities. We are in a cost-of-living crisis and as we approach the winter it’s more important than ever that we share information on what services exist in the VCSE sector.

If you are running a warm hub, for example, or a food bank, please let us know; we can publicise and get this information out across the city. Contact us here: CommsHub@wvca.org.uk.

We know the great work that we do in the VCSE sector. Let’s continue to pull together. Thank you.
