Voluntary, community organisations and schools etc. across the UK can now apply for grants of up to £20,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund – Awards for All programme.
This represents a significant increase from the previous maximum grant size of £10,000. Projects can last for up to two years.
The funding boost is intended to support organisations in delivering new or existing community-led activities.
Eligible projects must achieve at least one of the following objectives:
• Bring people together to build strong relationships within and across communities,
• Improve places and spaces that matter to communities.
• Help individuals reach their potential by providing early support,
• Assist individuals, communities, and organisations facing difficulties due to the costof-living crisis.
Organisations eligible to apply include:
• Constituted voluntary or community organisations,
• Constituted groups or clubs,
• Registered charities,
• Charitable incorporated organisations (CIOs),
• Not-for-profit companies,
• Community interest companies (CICs),
• Schools (provided the project benefits and involves the surrounding communities),
• Statutory bodies (including local authorities, town, parish, and community councils),
• Community benefit societies.
The funding can be used for a variety of purposes, including:
• Organisational running costs,
• Equipment,
• One off events,
• Staff costs,
• Training costs,
• Transport,
• Utilities,
• Volunteer expenses,
• Small land or refurbishment projects.
The application deadline is 16 weeks before the start of the project or activities.
