Dear Colleagues,
Spring is upon us already and despite the inclement weather, we continue to be positive and hopeful of better things to come!
Over the last few months, WVCA has brought in and given out approximately £250,000 to Wolverhampton VCSE groups through, for example, Impact Volunteering, Hope Small Grants, St. Peter’s Physical Activity Programme, and Social Enterprise Boost Fund.
Some of the funding programmes will be open for applications for a further year. The details of these programmes are on our website.
Over the coming weeks, we aim to bring you highlights from the groups who have received the funding and the difference it has made in communities.
We held the VCSE Alliance meeting online on 9th April. This was an opportunity for us to come together and reset why we want an Alliance and what we want it to be and do. Overall, the sector response was positive with organisations wanting to meet, network, share information and collaborate. There was also a majority view that we should meet face to face and this has been arranged.
The next VCSE Alliance meeting, for Wolverhampton VCSE groups and organisations, will be in person at 10:30 – 12:30 on Thurs 23rd May 2024. The venue will be confirmed nearer the time.
Look forward to seeing you then,
Thank you,
Sharon Nanan-Sen
