The Morrisons Foundation’s Connecting Communities Grant Scheme offers grants to registered charities for capital projects that improve shared buildings and outdoor spaces, bring people together, reduce social isolation and help vital local services remain accessible.
Who can apply?
- Charities registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales or the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator
- Charities that have been registered for at least one year and have filed at least one set of accounts on time
- Applicants that own the property where the project will take place or hold a long-term lease with at least three years remaining
- Charities providing place-based services for whole communities or particular groups
What can you get?
- Grants of up to £20,000 to fully fund an eligible capital project
- Funding for renovations such as roofs, kitchens and accessible toilets
- Funding for fixed equipment such as boilers, security systems, stairlifts and sensory-room equipment
- Funding for outdoor improvements such as community gardens, accessible paths and playground equipment

Key notes
- Applications from smaller charities with annual income below £1 million are prioritised.
- Running costs, including salaries, rent, utilities and administration, are not eligible.
- The Foundation does not normally provide part-funding or contributions towards larger project costs.
- Applicants should obtain proof of price or other supporting documentation before applying.
