The Comic Relief Community Fund (England), administered by Groundwork, offers grants to grassroots organisations delivering community-led work around basic needs, early childhood development and safety, including support for refugees and asylum seekers and projects preventing violence against women and girls.
Who can apply?
- Constituted voluntary and community groups, charities and social enterprises
- Community Interest Companies limited by guarantee that have operated for more than two years
- Not-for-profit companies limited by guarantee
- Organisations based in England, delivering their project in the same region, with annual income of no more than £250,000
What can you get?
- Grants of up to £5,000
- Funding for project costs, core organisational costs or a combination of both
- Eligible costs can include wages, rent, office energy bills, training, venue hire, outreach work, volunteer-led services and improvements to facilities

Key notes
- Projects must focus on basic needs, early childhood development or safety.
- Projects where mental health is the principal focus are not eligible, although mental health can form part of wider work.
- All funded activity must be delivered and funding spent by 30 September 2027.
- Priority may be given to organisations working in areas with higher levels of deprivation.
