Laughology’s Happiness Fund is offering grants to grassroots, neighbourhood-based organisations across the UK for projects that improve mental health and wellbeing, promote inclusion, or develop learning and skills. The funding is intended to help small, locally led projects create lasting positive change and become sustainable beyond the initial grant period.

Who can apply?

  • Grassroots and community-based organisations operating in the UK
  • Not-for-profit and non-political organisations
  • Groups proposing locally led projects with a clear focus on longevity and sustainability
  • Previous Happiness Fund applicants, provided they meet the current eligibility requirements

What can you get?

  • A grant of £5,000
  • Two £5,000 awards are available in this application round
  • Funding for neighbourhood-based projects supporting mental health, wellbeing, inclusion, learning or skills development

Key notes

  • Priority will be given to projects that can create sustainable, long-term benefits and continue beyond the initial funding.
  • The fund does not support large national charities or projects based outside the UK.
  • Salaries, accommodation or rent, retrospective costs, medical treatments and medical research are not eligible; building renovations may be considered.
  • One-off events are generally excluded unless they will create a lasting benefit for the community.
  • Schools and universities can apply only for independent projects that are not reliant on school funding.
