Here’s our latest update from Wolverhampton Volunteers.
As we come towards the end of September, since January, Wolverhampton Volunteers have had 515 people that have registered with us to explore volunteer work and have a total of 236 organisations currently registered with us and actively recruiting volunteers offering literally hundreds of fantastic volunteering opportunities.
Since January, the team have conducted 19 outreach sessions across the community in promoting volunteering, including JCP, regular sessions at Base 25 and many other community venues, more recently at Penn Hospital.
As mentioned before. Wolverhampton Volunteers have been successful in a joint partnership bid for the NHS Volunteers programme, we are still waiting more details on how this will look and be delivered, however, look forward to helping volunteers with their journey into the NHS.
Our Wolverhampton Engage & Connect (WEC) Project continues a successful delivery to vulnerable and isolated residents of Wolverhampton. This quarter July/ September, David Diaram our Outreach and Development Officer delivered 10 sessions in July, these include Bike riding, craft group, IT session and flower-arranging. In August, 7 sessions, again, these include IT sessions, group catch up meeting, meeting new participants and a creative writing group. September, 6 sessions were delivered, including craft sessions, meeting new participant, flower arranging and a creative writing session. Dave still has another 3 sessions before the end of September!
Credit to David for delivering so many successful sessions and making a real difference to those engaging with the WEC Project. For more information on WEC contact: wec@wvca.org.uk
