Dear Colleagues,
We seem to be racing through January with so much happening within and around the VCSEF sector.
I always say that the VCSEF sector is in a constant state of renewal and development despite many challenges, which is great for our communities and citizens. This week we had the January VCSEF Alliance meeting. There was good engagement and interaction, and it was great to see so many new faces at the meeting.

We presented the initial results from our VCSEF Survey which revealed some interesting insights, for example, of the 109 organisations who responded:
- 37% are ethnic minority led
- 8% are LGBTQIA+ led
- 16% are faith led
The main areas of activity/work are:
- 55% mental health and wellbeing
- 45% community support
- 57% physical health
The full report will be released next week and you will be able to download it from our website.
We also fed back on ‘Community Activation’ which is one of three overarching priorities for the One Wolverhampton Board, the other two being Digital and Integrated Neighbourhood Teams. As part of the Community Activation priority, we aim to establish a Community Health Champions pilot working with community members to promote the health and wellbeing of people with, or at risk of diabetes, in the first instance. This work will join up and align with the Integrated Neighbourhood Teams priority.
Finally, please check the website for our calendar of events including meet the funder and training opportunities.
Thank you,
Sharon Nanan-Sen
