On Wednesday 4th June, 17 organisations came together at the Mander Centre on Wolverhampton to help celebrate National Volunteers’ Week.
The event organised by Wolverhampton Volunteers part of WVCA, gave local organisations the opportunity to highlight what they do for their communities, and in particular what volunteering opportunities they can offer to people who may be considering becoming a volunteer.
Susan Woolnoughholt, Volunteer Centre Assistant at Wolverhampton Volunteers who helped organise the event on, was thrilled at the response from the organisations who attended, and members of the public who came along.
“It was fantastic to see so many people turn out for this event. The organisations who were there represent just a small number of the many groups within Wolverhampton who do so much good in the city. And it is important to recognise that so much of what these organisations do, could not be achieved without the help of volunteers.
“National Volunteers’ Week highlights the role that volunteers play in so many aspects of our lives across the UK and our Think Volunteers 2025 event at the Mander Centre was a true celebration of volunteering in Wolverhampton and what it can achieve for the people and communities here in the city.”
