Dear Colleagues,
Hope you are all well,
Wolverhampton 2025 UK Recovery Walk
The first thing to say is how fabulous the Wolverhampton 2025 UK Recovery Walk was at West Park on Sunday 13th September 2025. It rained of course, then shone, then rained but it did not keep people away and everyone was in high spirits. We were joined by people from all over the country as well as the Wolverhampton Mayor and local MPs. It has certainly put Wolverhampton on the map if it wasn’t already.
Of course, many partners have been involved working together and towards this huge event for the best part of a year, but I must give special thanks and congratulations to Marcus Johnson and Christianne Jenkins, our fabulous SUIT Project Lead and Arts Recovery Lead who have worked flat out every day on making this the success that it was.
It has also provided a platform on which we can build to raise the profile even more of people in recovery.
SUIT is a member of the College of Lived Experience (CLERO), and a recognised national Lived Experience Recovery Organisation (LERO). This means that they connect with other LEROs up and down the country and provide peer led support to hundreds of people every year through volunteering and other services. Health and Wellbeing Together Board
I would also like to mention the Health and Wellbeing Together Board which meets quarterly. The most recent meeting took place a couple of weeks ago. As you might expect much of the work of the board is around capturing health data, population profiles and projections of people’s health and wellbeing in Wolverhampton.
The information is collated and presented through the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA). The information available through the JSNA is extremely detailed with information on the population from the first 1001 days of life to the end of life. There is more information here.
As always, please remember to check out our website and newsletter regularly – there is always new information, and opportunities are always presenting themselves.
If there are any issues that you would like to raise or anything that you would like to hear more about, please contact me.
Thank you,
Sharon Nanan-Sen
Chief Executive Officer
