Family Action’s Welfare Grants Programme provides small but vital grants to help individuals and families facing financial hardship across the UK. Grants typically range from £200–£300 and can be used for essential items such as cookers, washing machines, fridge-freezers, beds and bedding.
To be eligible, applicants must be referred by a recognised agency (such as a charity, housing association or social services) and fall into at least one of the programme’s priority groups:

Older people
The programme supports people receiving means-tested benefits who are experiencing exceptional pressure or crisis. Family Action encourages organisations to sign up as referral partners to help people access timely support.
