The Alpkit Foundation offers grants of up to £500 to help individuals, community groups, schools and not-for-profit organisations across the UK access outdoor activities, develop skills, and enjoy the wellbeing benefits of being in nature. The aim is to remove barriers to outdoor participation and ensure that more people can experience the outdoors safely, confidently and responsibly.
Applications are welcomed year-round, with decisions made every two months.

The fund is ideal for projects that support people who might not otherwise have the resources or confidence to take part in outdoor activities.
What they fund
The Foundation supports five main types of activity:

Diversity and inclusion projects
Engaging people from a wide range of backgrounds in outdoor experiences. -
Environmental projects
Activities that protect, conserve or increase understanding of nature, wild spaces and the environment. -
Health projects
Programmes that improve physical and mental wellbeing through outdoor activity. -
Education projects
Training and learning opportunities, such as First Aid, Duke of Edinburgh, Forest School, Mountain Leader and similar programmes. -
Participation projects
Initiatives that get more people outdoors — particularly those who haven’t had the opportunity before.
Funding priorities
The Alpkit Foundation is especially interested in projects that:

Examples of eligible costs include providing discounted equipment or resources that would make an outdoor trip or activity possible for individuals or groups who otherwise couldn’t participate.

Full project costs — the grants are intended as partial support
