What is the funding for?
The Heart of England Community Foundation has launched the Building Better Lives Fund 2026, which provides funding for projects that support people who are facing or experiencing homelessness across Birmingham and the Black Country. The fund focuses on both prevention and practical support to help people move towards stable housing and improved life outcomes.
Funding can be used for projects that:
- Provide additional capacity to existing services that help remove barriers to ending homelessness
- Focus on early intervention and prevention
- Deliver life skills training such as budgeting, managing a tenancy, and independent living
- Strengthen employment pathways and training opportunities
- Support young people under 25, including care-experienced young people
- Support women experiencing multiple disadvantages
Who can apply?
Voluntary, community and charitable organisations delivering projects that support people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Birmingham or the Black Country.
How much can you apply for?
Up to £20,000 over two years (up to £10,000 per year).
