The Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation is a major UK grant funder supporting charities working with people experiencing significant disadvantage and complex needs. Since 2016, the Foundation has awarded more than £100 million in grants to organisations delivering long-term support and meaningful change.
Who can apply:
Registered charities working in England, Wales, the Isle of Man or Ireland. CICs are not eligible. Organisations will usually need annual expenditure below £10 million and must meet the Foundation’s reserves policy requirements.
What you can get:
Grants typically start at £5,000, with larger awards of £100,000+ and multi-million-pound funding available for substantial programmes. Multi-year funding over 1-3 years is available.
Deadline:
Rolling programme with no fixed closing date.
Key notes:
- Funding priorities include homelessness, domestic abuse, modern slavery, ex-offender support, substance misuse, care leavers, disability support, hospice care and support for older people
- The Foundation is particularly interested in organisations supporting people facing complex and multiple disadvantage
- Church-related community outreach work is also eligible under a separate funding strand
- Applications begin with an eligibility check before selected organisations are invited to submit a full application
- Funding is competitive and the Foundation has a structured assessment process
