The Grocers’ Charity is offering grants to UK-registered charities working to reduce disadvantage and improve quality of life for vulnerable people and communities.
Through its Open Grants Programme, the charity provides one-off grants for practical projects that create positive and lasting benefits.
Who can apply
Applications are open to UK-registered charities. The charity does not accept applications from CICs, mutual societies, individuals, places of worship, educational establishments or charities whose beneficiaries are overseas.
Charities with a turnover of more than £500,000 are not eligible, except for medical charities, where the limit is £15 million.
What you can get
The Grocers’ Charity typically provides one-off grants of up to £5,000.
Funding priorities include:
- relief of hardship, including homelessness, domestic abuse and work in deprived communities
- children and young people
- older people
- disability and inclusion
- health
- military veterans and their families
- arts and heritage
- environment and conservation
Deadline
The deadline for initial applications is 15 August 2026.
Key notes
Applications are made through a two-stage process.
Organisations must first complete an initial enquiry form. Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to complete a second-stage application form.
The Grocers’ Charity receives a high number of applications, so projects should clearly show how they meet the relevant funding priority and how the grant will make a practical difference.
