The BBC Children in Need Emergency Essentials Programme helps provide vital household items for children and young people whose wellbeing is being seriously affected by poverty, illness, disability, domestic abuse, homelessness, family breakdown or another crisis.
Who can apply
Families cannot apply directly.
Applications must be submitted by a registered referral agency working with the child, young person or family. This can include charities, schools, local authorities, health professionals and other approved support organisations.
Support is available for children and young people aged up to 17.
What you can get
Funding can provide essential items including:
- Cookers and kitchen equipment
- Furniture
- Children’s beds, bedding and cots
- Baby equipment
- Washing machines and tumble dryers
- Fridges and freezers
- Clothing
