The Barclays Community Sport Fund is offering grants to help grassroots sports organisations train more female coaches in football, cricket and tennis. The funding aims to increase opportunities for women and girls by supporting new and aspiring coaches to gain recognised qualifications.

Who can apply?

  • Not-for-profit organisations, including charities, community groups, youth groups and sports clubs
  • Organisations running football, cricket or tennis activities for women and/or girls
  • Applicants from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland

What can you get?

  • £200 per coach towards a Level 1 (or equivalent) coaching qualification, plus any required safeguarding and first aid training
  • Funding for up to two female coaches per organisation (maximum £400)

Key notes

  • Coaches must be aged 16+ (or 18+, depending on the qualification), and either already coaching girls or looking to start.
  • Coaches must complete their qualification within 12 months.
  • Applications from women with diverse backgrounds and lived experience are particularly encouraged.
