The Freelands Foundation Learning Through Making Fund supports visual arts education projects that give people opportunities to learn through hands-on making and exploring materials.

Who can apply: UK-based visual arts organisations working for a charitable purpose and public benefit. This includes registered and exempt charities, local authority galleries and museums, university-based charitable organisations and eligible CICs and Community Benefit Societies.

What you can get: Up to £25,000. Funding can support materials, transport, specialist expertise and facilities, making-focused elements of existing activities, and new workshops, events and action-research projects.

Key notes: Projects can run from a few days to several months, but all funded activity must take place between 1st January and 31st December 2027. The Foundation welcomes projects that try something new and do not necessarily have fully defined outcomes.

Deadline: 12 noon, Friday 11th September 2026.
