Hundreds of funding opportunities exist with funds available from a few pounds to thousands of pounds, however, it is increasingly competitive.
Generally, funders want to fund good projects, groups and organisations that meet community needs, have an impact and improve people’s lives in some way.
Not all projects and groups need funding but if you think you do, WVCA can help you to find the right funder for your project, group or organisation and can provide support with the application process.

Here are the funding opportunities we have shared recently…
W.G. Edwards Charitable Foundation – £3k for making the lives of older people better
£3K for organisations who are making the lives of older people better. The funding is for UK registered charities which promote a proactive approach to the physical and mental wellbeing of people who are over 65 years of age.
Evidence into Action – Youth Futures Foundation – up to £225k available to tackle youth unemployment
Evidence into Action – Youth Futures Foundation has up to £225k grants available for voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector organisations across the West Midlands (Wolverhampton, Birmingham, and Sandwell) to design and deliver evidence-based practises that address youth unemployment among young people aged between 16 and 24 from minoritised ethnic backgrounds.
Footwork Trust – People and Place 2025
The Footwork Trust has £5k for a mentoring programme and a supporting restricted grant are available to enable community innovators to turn their bold ideas into projects that deliver long-term change for their neighbourhoods.
New Funding Opportunity from The Prudence Trust
New Funding Opportunity from The Prudence Trust have up to £500k available for charities and community interest companies across the UK to support the delivery of high-quality early support hubs for young people aged between 11 and 25.
Severn Trent – The NeighbourGOOD Scheme
Severn Trent has launched this initiative to give our communities a helping hand on existing or new schemes/projects, through funding and hands-on volunteering.
Meet the funder & bid-writing workshop: Heart of England Community Foundation
Join us at our next “Meet the Funder” event where you will have the chance to hear about Heart of England’s available funds and take part in their interactive bid-writing workshop.
King Charles III Charitable Fund- Small Grants Programme
This £5k scheme provides small grants to support independent UK registered non-for-profit organisations for grassroots, community-based projects that fall within its core funding themes
Police and Crime Commissioner – My Community Fund
The Police and Crime Commissioner makes money available to support communities in the West Midlands who want to make “My Community” a safer place to live and work.
National Lottery Community Fund – Grants to Foster Stronger Community Connections
Charities and other not-for-profit organisations that want to help communities come together and make the UK a better-connected society can apply for grants of between £500,000 and £5 million through the National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) – UK Fund.
£150million funding to enhance and protect the UK’s world-class landscapes
Landscape Connections is National Lottery Heritage Fund’s new 10-year initiative, which will invest £150m in our most treasured countryside across the UK.

Our free Resource Hub has been updated with new finance & insurance support.
Severn Trent Community Fund
Up to £200k grants are available to local not-for-profit organisations for local projects that support the wellbeing of communities in the Severn Trent region. Three levels of grants are available.
Community Matters Fund 2024 (Future Skills) – Localgiving
Grants of between £2k – £5k are available for charities and not-for-profit organisations to deliver practical, focused programmes to boost skills and improve employability for those furthest from the job market in communities in the Midlands, South West England and South Wales where National Grid distributes electricity.
Family Hubs Digital Pilot now open for expressions of interest from VCSEF organisations
Wolverhampton’s Family Hubs partnership is pleased to announce that our city has been awarded funding to take part in a 6-month pilot of the DfE’s new Family Hubs Digital Service.

Access Programme – Coventry & Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust
The newly launched Access Programme supports social enterprises and charities in the West Midlands addressing the pressing cost-of-living crisis.
Help still available to cope with cost of living
Households struggling with the on-going cost of living crisis can still seek help from the council, which has invested £15.2 million to date in helping families in need afford daily essentials.
The Dulverton Trust Fund
The Dulverton Trust Fund aims to aid charitable endeavours addressing local needs in West Midlands. Grants of up to £5,000 are accessible for organisations, with funds to be utilised within a year. Applicants must align with one of the following priorities: youth opportunities, general welfare, conservation, or heritage.
Community Environment Fund
The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) launched the Community Environment Fund in October 2023, backed by £1 million from the Government’s Commonwealth Games Legacy Enhancement Fund. This initiative aims to empower communities to enhance the environment and quality of life. Grants of up to £25,000 for small projects and up to £100,000 for larger initiatives are available. Projects can focus on themes such as protecting nature, promoting circular economy practices, adapting to climate change, improving access to green spaces, and raising awareness about environmental issues.
