Wolverhampton is in the running to host next year’s National Recovery Walk – and residents and local organisations are being asked to back the city’s bid.
The annual event celebrates people’s recovery from drug or alcohol addiction. Each year, a different city or town has the honour of hosting the National Recovery Walk, which includes a public parade and a celebration gathering of people in recovery and their families and friends in a Recovery Village.
Interested parties, including Wolverhampton, were invited to submit bids to host next year’s walk by the trustees of Faces and Voices of Recovery UK (FAVOR UK), and Wolverhampton and Solihull are the two shortlisted venues.
People are being urged to support the Wolverhampton bid, which is being driven by WVCA’s Service User Involvement Team (SUIT) and The Good Shepherd in partnership with the City of Wolverhampton Council and Recovery Near You.
